FOSPAH is striving to create a Pakistan built on the ideals of gender equality and human dignity - Ms. Fauzia Viqar, Federal Ombudsperson against Harassment.

Ms. Fauzia Viqar held an interactive meeting with distinguished members of the Media covering the Islamabad High Court at the Federal Ombudsperson Secretariat for Protection against Harassment (FOSPAH). The meeting was also attended by Mr. Rehman Shehzad, Registrar FOSPAH and Ms. Meher Jamy, Law Officer FOSPAH. During the meeting Ms. Viqar elaborated upon the need for an institution like FOSPAH in Pakistan where only 23% of women are in the workplace and therefore require increased protection. Additionally, Ms. Jamy explained the mandate of FOSPAH, namely, eliminating workplace harassment and securing the property rights of women while Mr. Shehzad informed the attendees about the implementation powers of FOSPAH. The Media participants raised many pertinent questions about the workings of FOSPAH such as inquiring about the number of complaints received so far by transgendered persons, the availability of a mobile application to facilitate parties and the level of cooperation between FOSPAH and other women-centric bodies. The meeting then ended with a commitment by the members of the Media to disseminate information about FOSPAH to the people while also reporting upon its notable achievements.
