Hosted by the United States Institute of Peace (USIP), this four-day training emphasized that advancing Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) requires a deep shift in societal mindset. With a focus on creating inclusive policies and safe environments, the training featured Justice Ayesha Malik and Ms. Fauzia Viqar, Federal Ombudsperson for Protection Against Harassment, as guests of honor. Natalie Baker, Deputy Chief of the U.S. Mission, gave a keynote address.

Key focus areas of the training included:

  • Youth Engagement: Empowering young voices to lead change.
  • Climate & Conflict: Addressing the impacts of environmental issues on security and gender equality.
  • Inclusive Security: Redefining security frameworks to place women at the forefront.
  • Role of Academia: Embedding WPS principles in education to foster resilient, informed communities.
  • Strengthening Protection Mechanisms: Creating safe spaces for women and girls and emphasizing the need for stronger protection structures.

This training reinforced that meaningful progress in WPS depends on a foundational commitment to equality, safety, and empowerment.
