The Honorable Ombudsperson, Ms. Fauzia Viqar, shared these remarks during her keynote address at an awareness session held at the Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design - PIFD. She emphasized that harassment and unsafe work environments are among the leading reasons women hesitate to join the workforce. Now more than ever, ensuring safe workplaces is crucial, enabling women to fully participate and contribute to the country's GDP. FOSPAH’s Law Officer, Shazib Iqbal, delved into key topics, including gender-based discrimination, the importance of inquiry committees, and the process for filing complaints with FOSPAH. The session concluded with a Q&A led by the Regional Head of the Lahore Office, Ms. Lubna Ali, who delved into the difference between criminal cases and workplace harassment and how FOSPAH ensures a complainant’s safety. Vice Chancellor PIFD Prof. Hina Tayyaba Khalil also offered valuable insights, advising students on how to seek assistance from institutional committees in case of harassment-related concerns.
