Strengthening Protections for Women!
In collaboration with Shirkat Gah - Women's Resource Centre, the Punjab Ombudsperson hosted the Ombudspersons Roundtable Network Event to discuss ways to enhance legislation for women's protection and challenges associated with implementing Ombudspersons’ orders. The Honorable Federal Ombudsperson, Ms. Fauzia Viqar, emphasized the power of economic empowerment—when women have financial independence, they gain the confidence to speak up and stand up for themselves. Ms. Nabila Hakim, Punjab Ombudsperson, highlighted the importance of a psychologist to help the victims of harassment. Ms. Rakhshanda Naz, KP Ombudsperson, and Ms. Saira Atta, Balochistan Ombudsperson, emphasized the need for stronger coordination between offices. Together, we are working towards a safer, more just future for all.
