FOSPAH's Key Roles

Complaint Management

Seeking Justice Should Be Safe and Straightforward. We Make Sure It Is.

FOSPAH is a quasi-judicial autonomous body to hear complaints and deliver legally binding justice under the Protection Against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act 2010 and Enforcement of Women’s Property Rights Act 2020. We provide a trusted, speedy, and efficient forum for citizens to seek redress for violations of their rights.

  •  Primary Mandate: Adjudication of Workplace Harassment

Experiencing harassment is a profound violation of dignity. Our process ensures you are heard:

    • Impartial Process: We conduct a thorough impartial procedure into all harassment complaints, gathering evidence and providing a fair trial to both parties.
    • Swift & Enforceable Decisions: The law mandates a resolution within 90 days. Our decisions are legally binding, ranging from minor penalties to major penalties, including dismissal from service and compensation.

  • Secondary Mandate: Enforcement of Women's Property Rights (EWPRA)

A woman's right to her property is her economic security. FOSPAH is empowered by the EWPRA 2020 to act decisively when women in the Islamabad Capital Territory are illegally deprived of their property.

    • Filing a Complaint: Any woman denied her rightful inheritance or possession of property can file a complaint with FOSPAH.
    • Summary Procedure: We do not engage in long, drawn-out trials. We conduct a swift summary procedure, calling on relevant records from the Deputy Commissioner, revenue authorities, and other state functionaries.
    • Binding Orders to Restore Possession: If the Ombudsperson finds that a woman has been illegally deprived of her property, we issue binding, enforceable orders to the Deputy Commissioner to restore the property, correct the records, and ensure the woman's possession is returned.
