FOSPAH and WDO Explore Institutional Collaboration to Advance Women’s Empowerment

An exploratory meeting for collaboration was held between the Federal Ombudsperson Secretariat for Protection against Harassment (FOSPAH) and the Women Development Organization (WDO), a specialized institution of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) dedicated to advancing gender equality across member states.
Federal Ombudsperson FOSPAH, Ms. Fauzia viqar, highlighted the overlap between the two organizations' mandates and underscored the potential for institutional collaboration to promote women's empowerment across the OIC member countries.
H.E. Counsellor Sarah Ismail AlShoura, Executive Director of WDO commended FOSPAH's work in advancing women's rights and providing an accessible redressal mechanism for harassment in Pakistan. She also appreciated the work done by FOSPAH as the Convenor/Chair of the OICOA Sub Committee on Women's Rights.
Both sides agreed to developing a framework for structured engagement to explore avenues for future collaboration.
