FOSPAH Ombudsperson Addresses Faysal Bank Seminar on Harassment and Gender Equality in the Workplace
As women's participation in the workforce continues to grow, ensuring workplaces where dignity, equality, and respect prevail has become more important than ever.
Ms. Fauzia Viqar, Honourable Ombudsperson, FOSPAH, delivered a keynote address at a seminar organised by Faysal Bank Limited (Learning & Development) in Lahore, highlighting the impact of workplace harassment on individuals, irrespective of gender.
Drawing upon real-life examples, the discussion explored persistent gender disparities and the barriers that continue to affect women's participation and advancement in professional spaces. Pakistan's ranking at 143rd out of 145 countries in the Global Gender Gap Index underscored the need for sustained efforts towards gender equality, institutional accountability, and meaningful workplace reforms.
The seminar was also attended by Mr. Jaudat Hussain, Head of Retail Banking; Ms. Habiba Suleman, Head of Department (Learning); Ms. Zubia Shehryar, Regional Learning Head; and other members of the bank's senior management.
